To resolve that under Section 100 (A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

RESOLVED that under Section 100 (A) (4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

Council received a report, which sought Members consideration of awarding a Freedom of the District.

The report outlined the process which had been followed to-date and the next steps should the Honour be granted.

Several Members spoke in support of the two nominations, which had been received and outlined the services and benefits the Unit brought to the District.

They were considered an exemplar organisation and Members were honoured and proud that their “home” was West Lindsey.

Having been proposed and seconded and with more than two thirds of those Members present voting in favour it was: -

RESOLVED that the Freedom of the District be awarded to the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team (the Red Arrows).
