The Chairman opened the meeting by welcoming all Members of the Committee back to the Chamber The safety measures that were in place, once again, were highlighted. In the absence of a public gallery, due to capacity within the Chamber, the Chairman advised the Committee the meeting would be live webcast and extended her welcome to those watching at home.

Having considered the draft Gambling Policy, at their meeting in June 2021, when it had been approved for consultation purposes, the Committee gave further consideration to the Policy following the consultation period, with a view to recommending it to Full Council for adoption.

 

The consultation had taken place between the 14th of June 2021 and 6th of August 2021. As a result of responses received (1) a number of minor wording amendments had been made.  These did not affect the policy approach.  All amendments made as a result of the consultation feedback were detailed in Section 3.4 of the report.

 

With no questions or debate it was

 

RESOLVED that the Gambling Act 2005 – Statement of Principles be approved for RECOMMENDATION to Full Council, at its next meeting (1 November 2021) for final determination.
