The Governance and Audit committee is responsible for:
· Corporate Governance;
· Accounts and Audit;
· The Regulatory Framework (Assurance Framework);
· Ethics and Standards.
The Leader of the Council, Leader of the Opposition, the Chairman of the
Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Chairman of the Standards Sub-
Committee may be required to attend this committee but may not be appointed
to it.
The committee has 9 members, and is politically balanced. The committee will include at least one independent member and the normal term of office shall be four years. The committee normally meets 7 times a year.
The committee is attended by West Lindsey District Council’s internal, and external auditors.
