The Governance and Audit committee is responsible for:
· Corporate Governance;
· Accounts and Audit;
· The Regulatory Framework (Assurance Framework);
· Ethics and Standards.
The Leader of the Council, Leader of the Opposition, the Chairman of the
Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Chairman of the Standards
Committee may be required to attend this committee but may not be appointed
to it.
The committee has 5 members, and is politically balanced. The committee will include at least one independent member and the normal term of office shall be four years. The committee normally meets 7 times a year.
The committee is attended by West Lindsey District Council’s internal, and external auditors.
